Fostering professional engineers who have problem solving capability
The graduates of the department find employment in domestic top-ranking large corporations because there are many demands for them in automobile, aerospace, heavy industry, and shipbuilding, as well as electronics, electric industry, and particularly heavy chemical industry of Gumi National Industrial Complex. Their competitiveness leads to stable employment and prospects compared to those in other departments. The department aims to foster engineers who can recognize, analyze, and solve various problems posed in industrial sites, based on their basic knowledge of engineering principles and methods. In particular, the department strives to foster engineers who have active learning attitude and leadership with which they can approach new knowledge and technology in response to rapidly changing technological environment in the era of global competition
